Waltz Challenge: lively and fun – for experienced dancers
At the end of June, Patricia & Matteo invite you to a fantastic summer tango experience on Lake Chiemsee: VALSE TOTAL!!!!
Many of you have been asking for this – and now the time has come: the workshops will be all about the waltz. You’ve got plenty to look forward to!
Join us in the picturesque Chiemgau region, right by the lake. Relaxation guaranteed! And of course, there’ll be a milonga every evening!

Tango
► Turns in the waltz: dancing the waltz
with verve and panache – lively and fun!
► Waltz workshops & relaxation in perfect balance
Lessons take place in the mornings, leaving time for relaxation and excursions in the beautiful Chiemgau region.
On three evenings, there is a one-hour ‘practica’ before the milonga to consolidate what you’ve learnt.
► Atmospheric milongas
We dance tango every evening on top-quality parquet flooring.
Our dance hall measures 110 square metres and a ceiling cooling system ensures the room is kept at a comfortable temperature.
There are two course groups with a maximum of 11 couples per group.
A balanced ratio of leaders and followers ensures a pleasant atmosphere both during lessons and at the milongas.
Patricia and Matteo are responsible for organising the course groups.
Tango lessons

Dancing experience
The “Valse Challenge” is aimed at experienced dancers who wish to focus intensively on the waltz.
You have been dancing regularly for many years and are confident in both the parallel and crossed systems. Turns with a stable axis, pivots and ochos come naturally to you, and moving fluidly and mindfully in the ronda is part of your routine.
Patricia Hilliges & Matteo Panero live in Florence and have been teaching on our trips for many years.
They dance an elegant tango de salon, which they enrich with innovative elements – imaginative and musically appropriate.
Patricia & Matteo teach even challenging content with great wit and didactic experience.
Our location
Our tango hotel in Aiterbach on Lake Chiemsee is THE PERFECT PLACE: for dancing the tango and for relaxing.
In summer, it’s a lovely place to go for a swim! And, of course, we dance the tango every evening!
Hotel Aiterbach
. Situated right by the lake in a large park with plenty of greenery, it is the perfect oasis for relaxing and dancing the tango. You can go for a swim in complete comfort via a jetty. Wonderful!
You can enjoy a variety of cycle rides and walks along the lake, visit the enchanting islands of Herrenchiemsee and Frauenchiemsee, or simply relax on the terrace with a stunning view of the lake and mountains. Pedalos, stand-up paddleboards and bicycles are available for hire.
The main building houses guest rooms, as well as cosy lounges, the restaurant and a terrace with sweeping views across Lake Chiemsee to the Alps. The annexe houses the superior rooms, as well as the spacious, light-filled ballroom – the perfect space for shared tango moments – and it even has a view of the lake!
We enjoy breakfast and dinner as a buffet with a great selection of salads and vegetarian options.
Ballroom
The classes and milongas take place in the beautiful ballroom in the annexe – 110 square metres of excellent parquet flooring and a view of the lake. Every evening, an atmospheric milonga awaits you on the finest parquet flooring. Standard
rooms
► These are located in the two-storey main building. They are slightly smaller than the rooms in the new wing and offer either a direct view of the lake or of the street. There is no lift in the main building.
► Superior
Rooms: These are situated in the modern, two-storey annexe of the estate.
You can choose between rooms with a direct view of the lake or a side view towards the garden or the boathouse.
There is a lift in the new building.
Culinary delights
At the Hotel Aiterbach, you’ll find a cosy Bavarian restaurant and a large terrace with views of the lake and the mountains.
- A varied breakfast buffet ensures a delightful start to the day, which you can also enjoy on the terrace
- For dinner, alongside classic dishes, we offer a vegetarian selection, a soup, and a fresh and varied salad buffet.
- One evening, we’ll treat you to a barbecue on the beautiful terrace.

Not included:
travel costs, personal expenses and local tourist tax.
The hotel will charge the local tourist tax, amounting to approx. €2 per person per day, together with the room bill (e.g. drinks). Additional
nights including breakfast can be requested. An extra night costs €80 per person, including breakfast.
You should arrive in Aiterbach by the afternoon. You can
check into your room from 3.00 pm.
- Deposit: 15% of the tour price upon booking
- Balance: 5 weeks before departure
- Cancellation fees according to the terms and conditions

- visit the islands of Herrenchiemsee and Fraueninsel by boat
- there are numerous walking and cycling routes around Lake Chiemsee
- Pedalos, stand-up paddleboards and bicycles can be hired at the hotel
- Or simply relax in the large park and go for a swim in the lake
