Tango vacation and workshop with Patricia Hilliges and Matteo Panero

We are delighted that Patricia Hilliges & Matteo Panero will be teaching tango workshops in the Bregenzer Wald region in summer 2026.
Their friendly and professional teaching style will surely impress you. The tango workshops for intermediate to advanced dancers will take place in the morning and afternoon. Two evenings will feature guided practice sessions with Patricia & Matteo to reinforce what you've learned. Afterwards, you can enjoy an atmospheric milonga on a 250 m² first-class parquet dance floor.
During your stay, you also have the opportunity to attend the Bregenz Festival together and experience Verdi's "La Traviata" – an unforgettable event!
The Bregenzer Wald region is a real hidden gem in summer for anyone who wants to enjoy the mountains away from the crowds. Here you'll find shady hiking trails, picturesque alpine meadows with stunning views, and refreshing swimming spots in the clear waters of the Bregenzer Ache river. The gentle hills and valleys of the Bregenzer Wald are also perfect for e-bike tours, allowing you to breathe in the fresh mountain air and explore the beautiful scenery. And best of all: with the Bregenzer Wald Guest Card, you can use all public transport, outdoor swimming pools, and cable cars free of charge. So, head to the mountains and enjoy the breathtaking panorama!

Accommodation is in the Bio Hotel Schwanen in Bizau. The Hotel Schwanen is officially certified as an organic hotel. What is outstanding is the exquisite quality in the Restaurant (14 Gault Millau Points) and the relaxed atmosphere of the family run hotel.
There is waiting for you a healthy revitalizing breakfast in the morning and in the evening a delicious 4-course menu (with a choice of a vegetarian menu).
The restaurant is bright and tastefully decorated and has a lovely garden terrace where you can enjoy delicious afternoon apricot dumplings (“Marillenknödel”) and Austrian strudel specialties.
The hotel also has a choice of varied rooms available.
The rooms in the Schwanen are classically decorated with silver fir and furnished with simple but comfortable modern furniture by Bregenz craftsmen. The rooms differ in size and location: Schwanen I is about 30 square meters, Schwanen II about 22-24 square meters. Both room types look towards Kanisfluh or towards Hirschberg. The rooms Schwanen III faces the street, which is not busy at night, as Bizau is located in a small valley.
The room allocation takes place after booking, first come first serve.

Bregenz Festival during Tango Days:
Attending the Bregenz Festival is worth the trip alone for the spectacular stage design and the unique atmosphere of the lakeside stage. In 2026, Giuseppe Verdi's opera "La Traviata" will be performed.
If you register in advance, you can order good seats for €135 per person. Please indicate in your registration form whether you would like to purchase tickets.

Arrival and departure:
Guests should aim to arrive on Saturday until 18:00 (6 pm) in the evening. The tango classes begin on Sunday and end on Thursday.
Extra nights can be booked through Bailando Reisen.

Getting to Bizau:
Travel to Bizau is organized independently. Bizau is about 45 minutes by car or public bus service from Bregenz/Lake Constance.

Note on the Bregenz Festival:
Tickets are only valid on the day of the scheduled performance and are only valid for the Seebühne. The Bregenz Festival endeavours to hold the performance on the Seebühne even if the weather is doubtful and would like to point out that, if necessary, performances will also be held on the Seebühne in the event of rain, or that there may be delays or interruptions. In the event of a transfer to the Festspielhaus, category 3 ticket holders will be refunded the ticket value if the performance on the Seebühne did not take place or was shorter than 60 minutes. The tickets should be booked at the same time as the travel registration for the Tango Journey, as we receive special conditions as a group (ticket price 135,- €).

Tango with Patricia & Matteo:

Patricia Hilliges & Matteo Panero are based in Florence and have been teaching together since 1998.
They dance an elegant Tango de Salon, which they enrich with innovative elements - imaginative and musically appropriate. With a lot of wit, you teach even challenging content with a didactic experience.

A total of 5 x 1.5 hour lessons are planned for advanced dancers with Patricia & Matteo.
Patricia and Matteo both speak German and Italian.

The lessons and milongas take place in the premises of the property's former stables. In the evening we transform the hall into an atmospheric milonga. The hall is 150 square meters (stone floor) and air-conditioned.

This trip is designed for advanced or experienced dancers:
The participants should have at least three years of active dance experience. They should have a good understanding of the base in the parallel and crossed systems. Turns based on a stable axis, pivots and ochos are easy to dance for both the leader and the follower. Fluid dancing in the ronda should be possible without any problems and be a matter of course.
