In the lovely month of May we invite you to this special tango trip with Patricia Hilliges and Matteo Panero to the beautiful Emilia Romagna in Italy.
There is a reason to celebrate: we are celebrating 20 years of Bailando Reisen!!!
For this anniversary we have chosen Emilia Romagna as a unique travel destination. An unforgettable tango holiday awaits you in an enchanting place: the country hotel Borgo di Tabiano.
The highlight of this tango week will certainly be our "Aperitivo-Milonga" in the castle. Here, in the Castello di Tabiano, you can celebrate in style and dance with a wonderful view! Of course, there are more surprises waiting for you that we are not revealing yet...

Our anniversary milonga will take place in this elegant, historic hall of the Castello. We are very much looking forward to it!

Patricia Hilliges and Matteo Panero will be teaching on this tango trip. Their warm and professional teaching style will inspire you. Evening milongas in the atmospheric rooms of our hotel complement this beautiful tango trip. We look forward to experiencing the magic of tango with you in this beautiful place! Emilia Romagna offers a wealth of enchanting cities such as Parma, Cremona and Reggio Emilia. This region is not overrun by tourists: that's how Bella Italia is fun! Our idyllic country hotel sits next to the Castello di Tabiano as a castle village in a picturesque hilly landscape between Salsomaggiore Terme and Parma. In May, the landscape shines in colorful red tones of numerous poppies and the lush green of the grain fields that stretch across the hills. Here you are in the home of Parmesan cheese, delicious balsamic vinegar and delicate Parma ham - all of these delights await you here. A true tango vacation to enjoy!

The Borgo di Tabiano is an idyllic country hotel located in the historic buildings of the town of the same name, Castello di Tabiano. Nestled in the hills of the province of Parma and surrounded by oak forests and untouched nature, the property towers majestically over the valley. Originally a fortress and a farm, the buildings were transformed into a well-kept, rustic country hotel with plenty of flair during an extensive restoration. The charm of the old days can still be felt. The guest rooms are spread across the grounds in different building wings. The restaurant is located in the historic buildings of the old dairy and cheese factory, where the Parmesan cheese was made. These rooms date from the 18th and 19th centuries and have been restored with great attention to detail. In the kitchen, great emphasis is placed on freshness and regionality. Seasonal fruit, vegetables and herbs come from the hotel's own orchard and vegetable garden. At breakfast, you can expect a varied buffet with homemade cakes, jams, fresh fruit, cereals, as well as a selection of eggs, sausage and cheese. On four evenings, you can enjoy a fine menu in the cozy rooms or on the terrace. On one evening, we will experience the regional rustic cuisine of Emilia Romagna in a neighboring osteria. You can also expect an evening at a nearby winery near Salsomaggiore with a wine tasting and local antipasti, Parma ham and cheese.
You can relax in the hotel's spacious garden with plenty of seating. There is a swimming pool and a small wellness area with sauna and massage options. The swimming pool is open from the beginning of May when the weather is good.
The tango courses and the milongas take place in the rooms of the former stables of the property. There is enough space for our atmospheric milongas on over 150 square meters (stone floor suitable for dancing).

Rooms:
The rooms are located in the former watchtowers of the estate and in the rural houses made of stone and brick. They have been carefully restored and are spread over three floors. Due to the historical construction, no two rooms are the same and there is no elevator. The buildings are located near our dance hall and restaurant.
All rooms have a rustic, cozy interior with antique furniture, matching upholstery, hand-painted ceramics, terracotta floors or decorated antique tiles, wooden beams or rustic stone walls. The rooms on the 3rd floor have a sloping roof and built-in bright skylights.
The standard rooms offer around 20 square meters of space, while the superior rooms offer 25 square meters of space. The deluxe rooms are particularly spacious at around 35 square meters. Some of the deluxe rooms exude a particularly rustic atmosphere, with an antique bathtub in the room and a fireplace. They have a separate or open living and sleeping area. All rooms have - in addition to the antique tubs as room decoration - a bathroom with bathtub or shower/toilet as well as a minibar and air conditioning.
NEW: We have also reserved some rooms in the modern annex for you for 2025: These are located above the property, about 3 minutes walk from the dance hall. These rooms are furnished in a contemporary style and with modern bathrooms. There is an elevator in this building.

Arrival:
Arrival should be on Sunday until the afternoon. Rooms can be occupied from 3 p.m.

Tip:
We recommend that you extend your stay in Tabiano or extend the tango trip with a visit to the nearby cities of Mantua, Bologna or Modena. Or how about a combination with Milan, Lake Maggiore or Lake Garda?
