Jul 21th - 27th, 2024: Tango Holiday to Bregenz Forest/Austria

We are very pleased that Fausto Carpino & Stephanie Fesneau will be teaching with us again in Bregenzer Wald in summer 2024. They inspire with their refreshingly friendly manner and their didactically excellent and well structured lessons. The tango courses take place in the mornings and afternoons respectively. On some evenings there is an accompanied Practica with Fausto & Stephanie to deepen what has been learned. Afterwards, it continues with an atmospheric milonga on an area of 250 sqm of the best parquet floor.

The Bregenz Forest is particularly beautiful in summer and is often considered an insider tip. Far away from mass tourism, you can relax here and enjoy the unspoilt nature. Shady forest hiking trails alternate with wonderful views from the alpine pastures into lovely valleys and lush green meadows. There are swimming opportunities in the crystal-clear waters of the Bregenzer Ache and you can take beautiful bike tours on an e-bike. 
With the Bregenzer Wald Guest Card, the use of all public transport and mountain railways in the Bregenzer Wald is included! Let's ride skywards to the summits of the mountains surrounding us and enjoy the unique panorama.

Accommodation is at the Hotel Schwanen in Bizau. The Hotel Schwanen is officially certified as an organic hotel and is located in the centre of the small village of Bizau. The exquisite cuisine of the family-run hotel is outstanding: in Gault Millau, the Schwanen is listed with 3 toques and 14 points!
"Feeling good from the first minute..." this is possible here, according to the unanimous opinion of previous participants. The untouched nature of the Bregenzerwald invites you to recharge your batteries. The barefoot path near our hotel is certainly a real treat for our feet, ideal after an intense day of tango with Fausto & Stephanie. The beautiful landscape can be discovered in the best possible way during excursions and hikes. By the way: the travel price already includes the "Bregenzer Wald Card". It entitles you to free use of all mountain railways, swimming pools and public transport in the Bregenz Forest.
Our hosts from the Bio-Hotel Schwanen take great care of our well-being: culinary delights include delicious recipes from Hildegard von Bingen: healthy and light, simple yet refined. The exceptional cuisine, awarded 3 toques and 14 points by Gault Millau, seduces us with soothing sensory experiences. "From the field to the table: it doesn't get any fresher than this! The organic vegetables are grown in neighbouring Bezau as part of the "Solawi Bezau", the solidarity-based agriculture, and are therefore processed seasonally and regionally directly in the Schwanen!
Half board is included in our package: a healthy, vital breakfast and a fine 4-course menu in the evening. The restaurant is bright and tastefully decorated and has a beautiful garden terrace where you can enjoy delicious apricot dumplings and Austrian strudel specialities in the afternoon. A sauna with relaxation room and a cosy lounge, as well as the rustic parlour in typical "Wälder" style also contribute to your well-being.
The rooms in the Schwanen are nobly lined with silver fir and furnished with simple but cosy modern furniture by Bregenz craftsmen. The rooms differ in size and location: Schwanen I is approx. 30 sqm, Schwanen II is approx. 22-24 sqm. Both room types look towards the Kanisfluh, towards the Hirschberg or are spacious corner rooms (Schwanen I).
The rooms Schwanen III face the road, which is less frequented at night, as Bizau is situated in a side valley. 
Rooms are allocated according to booking, first come first serve.

Holiday flat:
In addition to accommodation in the Hotel Schwanen, there is also the option of booking high-quality furnished holiday flats for this trip. These are located about 5 minutes' walk from the Hotel Schwanen. The flats have one bedroom and a kitchen with a cosy living area. Meals = breakfast & dinner are taken together with the group at the Hotel Schwanen.
Gasthof Taube:
The Gasthof Taube is a family-run cosy hotel, about 2 minutes' walk from the Schwanen. The rooms are somewhat more simply furnished. Breakfast and dinner are also taken together with the group at the Schwanen.

Bregenz Festival during the Tango Days:
A visit to the Bregenz Festival is worth the trip just for the spectacular stage design and the atmosphere on the lake stage. In 2024, the opera "The freeeshooter (Der Freischütz)" by Carl Maria von Weber will be performed.
If you register in good time, good tickets can be ordered at a price of 125,- € per person.

Arrival and departure: 
Arrival should be by 18:00 on Sunday. The courses start on Monday and end on Friday. There will be no more courses on Saturday, so you can start your return journey after breakfast.

Arrival in Bizau:
The journey to Bizau is your own responsibility. Bizau is about 45 minutes by car from Bregenz. 
Approach via the A1 Rhine Valley motorway: Exit at Dornbirn Nord, follow the signs to Dornbirn Stadtmitte (town centre) and the signs to the Bregenzerwald. On the B 200 (via Alberschwende, Egg, Andelsbuch) to Bezau (2nd exit) and immediately after the bridge turn right to Bizau. The hotel is located directly in the village centre on the right in front of the church.
